1983 Torker BMX

A Torker BMX has always held huge prestige in the BMX world due to the companies relentless commitment to quality and performance.

Operating from 1976 - 2002, Torker were a leading player in the BMX industry for over four decades - while throughout this period being hugely coveted and admired for their commitment to the scene and what their riders needed from a bike at that time.

If you were lucky enough to be an owner of a Torker BMX then it was worth hanging onto - this was the case with our client James who has owned this particular bike since new.

It holds huge value to James, being the bike that saw him through BMX competitions during the 80’s. So the brief was to restore it to the original spec. Where restoration was feasible, we kept as many of the original parts as possible. Where the parts were too far gone, modern reproductions of classic components were used, for example - Dia Compe MX brakes, ODI grips, Panaracer tyres and Kashimax saddle.

All other components were carefully restored.

As always, the job wasn’t without it’s challenges -

The entire frame, forks and a few additional components needed professional electroplating to restore the original chrome finish. While the the correct silver foil decals had to be reproduced by hand.

We restored both sets of original wheels (spoked and Mag) Both were fully rebuilt and restored including returning the Skyway Mags back to pearly white.
