1982 Raleigh Grifter XL
The Grifter was Raleigh’s evolution of the Chopper and continued the Chopper’s success enjoyed by Raleigh in the youth demographic. By 1982 when this Grifter was produced many kids had switched to BMX. The Grifter became unpopular and was discontinued soon after.
This example was in pretty good condition. Most of the components were just cleaned and polished, although the rims were beyond repair so period correct replacements were sourced and re-chromed.
The black and red paint was re-done and the fetching, 80’s neon-effect lettering of the original decal artwork was painstakingly recreated.
